MEET DR. MILNER
Dr. Sheldon Milner attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed an Internal Medicine internship and residency at the University of Maryland Hospital. After his residency, he completed a fellowship in Medical Oncology at the University of Maryland Medical Center. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology, and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. As a member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians, he served on their Ethics Committee.
Dr. Milner has always had a special interest in helping his patients with their weight problems because of his own struggles with weight. After practicing Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology for fifteen years, he became so disturbed by the growing problem of obesity in his patients; he changed the focus of his practice to Bariatric Medicine (the treatment of obesity and weight related problems). In 1996, Dr. Milner developed his highly successful Dr. Milner’s Weight Loss Program that has helped so many of his overweight patients lead thinner, healthier lives. This diet programs employ medical treatment for obesity and also emphasizes patient education as well as behavioral modification to ensure continued success.
